QUIZCHERRY PRIVACY POLICY (INDIA)

This Privacy Policy explains how QUIZCHERRY PREPEXAM (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED (“Quizcherry”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Quizcherry mobile application for Android and iOS (the “App”) and any related websites (including quizcherry.com) and services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

1) Scope and acceptance

  • By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
  • This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the App and our Services, including information you provide and information collected automatically.

2) Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to provide and improve the Services.

A. Account information (provided by you)

  • Email address (required): Used to create your account and to log in.
  • Name (optional): If you choose to provide it, we use it to personalise messages and improve your in-app experience.

B. Authentication information

  • Password: Used for authentication. We do not store your password in plain text. We store it in a secured form (such as a cryptographic hash) to help protect your account.

C. Quiz, learning, and usage information (generated by your use)

  • Quiz attempts, responses, scores, and performance history.
  • Usage patterns relevant to learning features (for example, which quizzes you attempted and when).
  • This helps us provide quiz history, feedback, and improve the learning experience.

D. Subscription and entitlement information (app-store billing; entitlement verification)

  • Purchases and payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your card number, bank details, UPI details, or other payment instrument information.
  • Subscription billing records are maintained by Apple/Google under their own systems.
  • To provide Introductory Offers, Premium access and prevent misuse, we (and/or service providers acting on our behalf) may check and process limited entitlement status information (for example, whether your subscription is active/expired and when it was last verified). We use this only to control access, prevent fraud/abuse, and assist with support queries.

E. Technical, device, and analytics data (collected automatically)

  • We use third-party analytics/measurement tools to understand how users engage with the App and to improve functionality and stability.
  • These tools may collect:
  • App usage events (for example, screen views, feature usage)
  • Device and app information (for example, device model, OS version, app version, language)
  • Identifiers and diagnostic information (subject to platform settings)
  • Approximate location information derived from IP address may be processed as part of standard network communications
  • This data helps us operate, secure, and improve the Services.

F. Support communications (provided by you)

  • If you contact us by email, we collect the information you include (for example, your email address and the content of your message) to respond and resolve issues.

G. Push notifications

  • We do not send push notifications as of the Effective Date. If we introduce push notifications in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, request device permissions.

3) How we use your information

We use information for these purposes:

  • To create and manage your Account and enable login.
  • To provide the Services, including quizzes, scoring, feedback, and quiz history (where available).
  • To determine access based on Trial, Introductory Offers or Premium status (entitlement verification).
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Services, including debugging, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.
  • To understand usage trends and improve the App using analytics insights.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues (for example, misuse of Content or attempts to bypass limits).
  • To respond to your support requests and grievances.
  • To comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect our rights and users.

4) How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

A. Service providers (processors acting on our instructions)

  • We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the App and Services, such as:
  • cloud hosting and database providers
  • analytics and measurement providers
  • subscription/entitlement verification providers
  • These service providers are permitted to process information only to provide services to us and are expected to protect it using reasonable security measures.

B. App stores (billing handled by Apple/Google)

  • Apple and Google process subscription purchases and payments and handle related billing records under their own terms and privacy policies.

C. Legal and safety disclosures

  • We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, prevent fraud, or respond to claims.

D. Business transfers

  • If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

5) Access rules and quiz history visibility

  • Your ability to access quizzes and view quiz history depends on whether you have an active Trial, an active Introductory Offer, or an active Premium Subscription, as described in our Terms of Service.
  • If your Trial, an active Introductory Offer, or Subscription ends, access to quizzes and quiz history may be restricted within the App even if we still retain certain data for legitimate purposes described in this policy.

6) Data retention

  • We retain Account information (email and optional name) for as long as your Account remains active.
  • We retain quiz/performance data for as long as needed to provide the Services (including history and feedback) or as otherwise described below.
  • We retain technical and analytics data for a reasonable period for troubleshooting, security, and improvement.
  • We may retain limited records where necessary for legal compliance, security and fraud prevention, enforcing our Terms, and resolving disputes.

7) Account deletion (in-app), effects, and irreversibility

You can delete your Account directly from within the App.

  • Deletion is irreversible. Once deleted, your Account cannot be restored.
  • If you want to use Quizcherry again, you must create a new account (and prior quiz history may not be available).
  • When you delete your Account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data from our active systems as soon as reasonably practicable, except where retention is necessary for legal compliance, security/fraud prevention, dispute handling, and enforcing our policies (for example, preventing trial abuse).
  • Some limited information may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period and will be removed when backups rotate as part of normal operations.

Important: deletion does not cancel subscriptions

  • Deleting your Account does not automatically cancel your Apple/Google subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID / Google Play subscription settings to stop future billing.

8) Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal data, such as:

  • Accessing or updating certain account details within the App (where available).
  • Deleting your Account in-app (irreversible) as described above.
  • Contacting us to raise questions, complaints, or grievances at contactus@quizcherry.com from your registered email address.

9) Security

  • We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
  • However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10) Where your data is processed

  • Your information may be stored and processed using cloud infrastructure and service providers used to operate the Services.
  • Depending on where our service providers operate, your information may be processed in India or other countries. Where such processing occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards.

11) Children’s privacy

  • If you are under 18, you should use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or lawful guardian.
  • If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us at contactus@quizcherry.com.

12) Changes to this Privacy Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
  • We will post the updated version within the App/website and update the “Last Updated” date.
  • Continued use of the Services after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
